In this post, I am going to share a Firebase Realtime Database project that counts post views (or any custom event) in real time. This is also my first project using TypeScript with Firebase v9 , and I’m really excited to walk you through it. Since this project uses the Firebase JavaScript SDK , the final bundle size is slightly larger. I also experimented with the Firebase Realtime Database REST API , but the response turned out to be noticeably slower compared to the SDK. For this reason, I decided to stick with the JavaScript SDK to achieve better performance and smoother real-time updates.
